Safe Boating
Boating season is upon us and while you are getting your boat ready for the next big trip, don’t forget to check your safety equipment. Examine your PFD’s to see if they are in good condition. Check your safety flares, if they are out of date buy new ones; keep the out of date flares as a back up. Check your navigation lights. Check the batteries in your carbon monoxide detectors to make sure they work. The Coast Guard Auxiliary is a great resource to assist you in assuring your vessel is up-to-date on all Coast Guard required safety equipment.
